Peer Reviewer Process
Peer Review and Editorial Process
All manuscripts submitted to PCJN: Pharmaceutical and Clinical Journal of Nusantara must comply with the Focus and Scope of the journal and follow the Author Guidelines. Manuscripts should present clear scientific contributions, including novelty, theoretical advancement, methodological improvement, or significant findings relevant to the field of pharmaceutical and clinical sciences.
The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s scope, quality standards, or submission requirements as outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts must be free from plagiarism. Authors are strongly encouraged to check their manuscripts using plagiarism detection software prior to submission.
The editorial office screens all submissions using iThenticate plagiarism detection software to ensure the originality of the manuscript. Manuscripts that contain significant similarity with previously published works may be rejected or returned to the authors for revision in accordance with the journal’s plagiarism policy.
Peer Review Process
All research articles submitted to this journal undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed.
Each manuscript that passes the initial editorial screening will be evaluated by at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise to ensure a fair, objective, and thorough evaluation of the manuscript.
The reviewers provide scientific comments and recommendations intended to improve the clarity, quality, and scientific contribution of the manuscript.
The final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief on behalf of the Editorial Board, taking into consideration the reviewers’ comments and recommendations.
Editorial Decision
Based on the peer-review evaluation, the editor may issue one of the following decisions:
Rejected
The manuscript does not meet the journal’s scientific standards or falls outside the journal’s scope. Rejected manuscripts will not be considered for publication, and authors are not permitted to resubmit the same manuscript to the journal.
Resubmit for Review
The manuscript requires substantial revisions before it can be reconsidered for publication. After revision, the manuscript will undergo another round of peer review.
Accept with Revision
The manuscript is conditionally accepted, subject to minor or major revisions requested by the reviewers or editors. The revised manuscript will be evaluated by the editor and, if necessary, may be returned to the reviewers to ensure that all required revisions have been addressed.
Accept
The manuscript is accepted for publication without further revisions or with only minor editorial adjustments.
Review Timeline
The peer review and editorial decision process typically takes approximately 3 to 12 weeks, depending on the availability of reviewers and the complexity of the manuscript.
Revision and Final Submission
Once revisions are requested, authors are expected to submit the revised manuscript within the timeframe specified by the editorial office. If the revised manuscript is not returned within the given period and the editorial office is not informed of any delay, the manuscript may be considered withdrawn or rejected.
Publication Process
After final acceptance, the manuscript will proceed to copyediting, proofreading, formatting, and online publication.
The order of publication is determined by the Editor-in-Chief, considering:
- The date of manuscript acceptance
- Thematic relevance of the article
- The balance of topics and geographical diversity of authors
